It is never too early to start teaching children the basics of banking and to give them the confidence that comes along with earning, saving and spending wisely. Whether you are looking to begin with the basics of saving or to teach about the responsibility of a checking account, we have an account that will work for you. Plus, with our Cash for Good Grades incentive, students can put even more into their savings.

WHAT TO BRING: Visit us at any convenient branch location to open a student account. To make the account opening as seamless as possible, bring the child’s social security number, the minimum funds to open account, and the child’s Birth Certificate when you visit us.

This checking account is available to teens ages 15-18

*Must be between 15 and 18 years of age. A parent or legal guardian is required to be a joint owner on the account. Account converts to Free Checking Plus upon turning 19 years of age.  Overdraft Privilege is not available. Account does not earn interest. See Combined Account Disclosure and Fee Schedule for more information. Must be 18 years of age to open account online.

 

High Five Savings

This Savings Account offers a Premium Rate and is available to children and young adults under 19 years of age.

Account converts to Statement Savings upon turning 19 years of age.  See Combined Account Disclosure and Fee Schedule for more information. Must be 18 years of age to open account online and 15 years of age to obtain Online/Mobile banking.

 

 

Cash for Good Grades

The cash for good grades incentive is a maximum of $20.00 per school year, with a maximum of $5 per quarter. To receive cash for good grades, report cards showing a GPA of at least 3.0 or equivalent must be submitted to a North Brookfield Savings Bank branch location. The incentive will be deposited into the student’s account.

*Cash for Good Grades is available to children and young adults who hold a NBSB Teen Checking Account or High Five Savings Account. Students must submit their report card to a NBSB branch location within 30 days of the end of the most recent marking period. The bonus will be credited to the students account within 30 days of the submission date. The value of these bonuses may constitute taxable income and will be reported on IRS Form 1099 (or other appropriate form). Offer subject to change at any time.
